Reuters reports that OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Work, an agent built to carry out tasks across applications and files. The shift is from asking a chatbot for answers to asking an assistant to move work between the tools you already use.
ChatGPT Work matters because it points at the next normal version of AI at work. Not a clever prompt in a blank box. A system that can see the documents, apps and loose ends that make up a working day.
For a business owner, that is both more useful and more serious. A chatbot that writes a rough email is easy to ignore. An agent that can open files, move data and trigger tasks needs boundaries. You would not give a new hire full access to every folder on day one. AI should be treated the same way.
